New Brazilian Saint for the Roman Catholic Church

Friar Antonio de Sant’Anna Galvao, a Franciscan Monk was canonized recently by Pope Benedict XVI and made a Saint. The first Brazilian Saint as a matter of Fact...I am sure there are better articles but here is one from MSN. Also he spoke out about the morays and hedonistic tendency's in our culture today. We should take heed to his words. Click here if you wish to read it.

Also, during this same visit to Latin America the Pope spoke out to Drug Traffickers about the retributions they will someday face in light of their illegal drug dealings to the young and otherwise addicted. We should all take heed and read up on this as well because I feel it is also truth. Irish Facts (At least I believe so...)

There are no postal or ZIP codes in Ireland outside of Dublin. If you wanted to write a letter to someone in Ireland, you’d only need to know their city, street and the county their town is in.
• Couples in Ireland could marry legally on St. Brigid's Day (February 1st) in Teltown, County Meath, as recently as the 1920’s by simply walking towards each other. If the marriage failed, they could "divorce'" by walking away from each other at the same spot, on St. Brigid’s day the following year. The custom was a holdover from old Irish Brehon laws, which allowed temporary marriage contracts.
A village known as "Dun Bleisce" recently won the right to change it's name back to an old-time local favorite. The town will now be called "Fort of the Harlot," as it was in the distant past. After a variety of names were used to describe the town over the years, the government christened it "An Dun," which translates simply into "The Fort," in 2003. But a recent petition by townspeople has prompted officials to put "the Harlot" back into the name. The historical harlot involved here may have simply been a powerful woman, and not a harlot in the modern sense of the word.
• “Cemetery Sunday” is a lesser-known tradition still practiced around Ireland, although it seems to take place on whatever date is most convenient for local church leaders. A mass is celebrated for families of those buried in the local church graveyard, after which an effort is made over several days to clean up the churchyard. Special attention is traditionally given to the graves of those who have no one left among the living to remember them.
• An old legend says that, while Christ will judge all nations on judgment day, St. Patrick will be the judge of the Irish.
• Celtic rock group the Pogues were originally called "Pogue Mahone," which translates into "kiss my a**" in Gaelic.
